Swiss Education Group

On Monday, 27 October 2025, we had the opportunity to take part in a special workshop led by Mr John A. Daly, the Academic Director of the Swiss Education Group. The event featured several engaging activities, including The Lego Challenge and The Perfume Challenge—both simple yet surprisingly thought-provoking exercises that encouraged creativity, teamwork, and communication.

During the workshop, Mr John introduced us to The Lego Challenge, a simple yet meaningful teamwork activity. Each participant had a different task, such as building specific rows or keeping them within the block limit. The twist was that no one was allowed to speak, so we had to communicate solely through gestures and expressions.

At first, it was rather confusing and chaotic, but over time, we learned to understand one another without words. This activity taught us that teamwork does not always rely on talking; it also depends on patience, awareness, and trust. Sometimes, the most effective communication can occur without the use of words.

After completing The Lego Challenge, the workshop shifted from building with blocks to blending fragrances in The Perfume Challenge. Mr John began the session by sharing insights into the exclusivity and prestige associated with luxury brands, emphasising the importance of creativity and identity in building one.

Soon after, each group was given the opportunity to create their own perfume brand and product. The Swiss Education Group team distributed the main ingredients required, such as carrier oils for the base and essential oils to provide the scent. Once everything had been prepared, Mr John officially began the 45-minute challenge.

Our task was to design and develop a unique brand concept alongside the perfume itself. Initially, it was somewhat difficult to divide responsibilities, as most members were eager to create the scent. Eventually, through discussion and cooperation, we managed to organise our roles and complete the task successfully.

To conclude the session, every group presented their final product in a three-minute pitch, showcasing the logo, brand concept, and perfume. The judges, consisting of our teachers, evaluated each group based on the brand name, design, philosophy, and the quality of the fragrance.

Overall, it was a truly memorable and insightful experience. We were reminded of the importance of communication, leadership, and teamwork. Moreover, we gained a deeper understanding of the connection between a product and its brand, as demonstrated in The Perfume Challenge. In the end, the workshop became more than just a series of activities—it was an experience that taught us to connect, create, and communicate with purpose.
